Raclette in Basel, glacier raclette from the Engadin

Best cow's milk from animal-friendly farming, made to the dairy's own recipe, lovingly cared for over at least six months: that's how our glacier raclette develops an aroma that holds its own.

What sets it apart

What makes our raclette special?

01

The milk

Only top-quality cow's milk from animal-friendly farms, processed to the dairy's own recipe.

02

The ageing

At least six months of ageing, which gives the cheese depth, not just melt.

03

The origin

Our raclette comes from the same dairy as our fondue, Sennerei Pontresina in the Engadin. You'll find this combination in Basel only with us.

Raclette croffle with melted Engadin cheese
Two ways

On the plate or as a croffle

Classic, we serve glacier raclette melted on the plate, with potatoes, cornichons, pickled onions and bread. And because we're the Pförti, in season the raclette also comes as a croffle: melted cheese on croissant-waffle dough, with cornichons for crunch. A small Engadin revolution in the heart of the Gellert.

À discrétion

On pre-order, until you smile

How it works

Raclette à discrétion is available on pre-order: you reserve, we keep melting until you smile. Ideal for tables of four or more, birthdays, and anyone who doesn't do half measures with cheese. Just note «raclette à discrétion» when you reserve, we'll handle the rest.

Season & availability

Classic table raclette is served in the winter season, when cheese, weather and mood align. Current availability and prices are on our menu. And if you crave cheese in summer: our glacier fondue (house mix) is available all year, in the garden in summer.

Our raclette comes from Sennerei Pontresina, the same family business that makes our glacier fondue. The full dairy story is on our fondue page.
