The faces behind the Pförtnerhaus

Behind the Pförtnerhaus are Diana and Michel Gysin and a crew that takes hospitality seriously, and themselves not too seriously. We wanted the place we'd love to sit at ourselves. Now you're sitting there.

The hosts

Diana & Michel

Diana and Michel Gysin run the Pförtnerhaus together. What unites them: the conviction that indulgence is no crime, and that a neighbourhood needs a place to meet, no occasion required.

Behind the bar

The crew

The Pförti has a crew that wakes the espresso machine in the morning, loads croffles into the iron at noon and polishes glasses at night. Come once and you'll know the faces, come twice and they'll know yours. That's not a service strategy, it just happens here.

What we stand for

What we believe in

In indulgence without guilt. In a neighbourhood that deserves more than through-traffic. In croffles, obviously. In cheese from the Engadin, in coffee worthy of the name, and in evenings that run longer than planned. In short: la vie en rose, every day, at Hardstrasse 43.

The easiest way to meet us is where we like to be most: at the Pförti. Reserve a table or just drop in.
