Sunday brunch in Basel, once a month, the Pförti opens
On one Sunday a month we open the Pförtnerhaus, set the long table and serve a buffet we'd want for ourselves. Small and refined, curated rather than crammed. CHF 39 including a hot drink.
What's on the buffet
Bircher from our house recipe, homemade Sunday plait (Zopf), fresh croissants, Swiss Lachs, a board of mature cheese, charcuterie, a table's worth of sweets and cake, and in season, our croffles join the lineup. We go for curated character, not twenty bowls of which half stay full.

Price, seatings, reservation
CHF 39 per person, including one hot drink. Children up to 6 eat free; ages 7 to 12 are half price. We offer two seatings: 10:00 to 12:15 and 12:30 to 15:00, please pick one when you reserve.
We recommend reserving early, dates often fill up two weeks ahead. The online form is fastest; you can also call. And if you can't make it, please cancel early so someone from the waiting list can take your seat.

When does Sunday brunch take place at Pförtnerhaus?
On selected Sundays, usually once a month. The next 2026 dates: 30 August, 20 September, 25 October and 29 November; more will be added. Reservations are required as places are limited.
How much does Sunday brunch cost?
CHF 39 per person including one hot drink (coffee, tea or matcha). Children up to 6 eat free, ages 7 to 12 pay half price. Additional drinks (juice, champagne, wine) are charged based on what you order.
Which time slots are available?
Two seatings: 10:00 to 12:15 and 12:30 to 15:00. Please pick one when you reserve. Both seatings have the same buffet, the second one tends to be a bit calmer.
Are vegetarian or vegan options available?
The buffet always has vegetarian items (bircher, cheese, sweets, croissants, Sunday plait) and usually vegan options too. If you brunch strictly vegan, mention it when you reserve and we'll prepare accordingly.
How late can I reserve, and what if I have to cancel?
Online up to the day before, subject to availability; dates usually fill up two to four weeks ahead. If you can't make it, please cancel as early as possible, seats are limited and in demand.
